5 Balance Exercises Before You Swim

Heading to the pool? Swimming is great for your joints, but good balance helps you get in and out of the water safely.

Here are 5 balance-boosting exercises to do before your swim:

1. Single-Leg Stands – Stand on one leg for 30 seconds per side.

2. Heel-to-Toe Walks – Walk in a straight line, placing one foot directly in front of the other.

3. Toe Raises – Rise onto your toes and slowly lower back down.

4. Chair Squats – Squat down to a chair and stand back up without using your hands.

5. Side Steps – Step sideways 10 steps in each direction.

These simple moves improve stability and prevent slips.
