So…why on earth is this month’s challenge “How many relatives and old friends can you call?”
Back in April we started talking about the 5 Pillars of Health. These are 5 areas you can work on to improve your health:
Movement
Nutrition
Mental Health
Sleep
Connection
The last of which is where we get our challenge for this month. The thing is, we all have people we WANT to stay in contact with but don’t.
We are often too busy focusing on work, getting the family where they need to be, and keeping up with our current friends that we sometimes miss the connections with the people we miss talking to.
Well, now here is your push to call them. To catch up. To connect. To ground.
My challenge to you to make this challenge a reality for you is to pick up your phone and use the hands free calling component in your car. Before you drive to where you are going, pick that person you miss’ contact info and call them. 5, 10, 15, 20, how ever many minutes the drive is, you’ll feel better that you did.
And if you didn’t, erase the contact and pick someone who does next time.
Taking that trip down memory lane will help you connect. But, it also is a way to help fight Alzheimer’s disease as we age.
