| Owning a gym for 6 years, I have seen over 1,000 athletes walk through our doors. We have helped far more of those people than we have let down and I’m incredibly proud of the things athletes in Vegvisir and our Alumni are accomplishing. In moving to a new space, it has been a time of thinking about what we should aim our sights on next. In order to do that, we have to look back who we have helped most so that we can help even more people with our new platform. Now, we can just define having helped by saying “we got them to their goals.” But, that’s not why we do this. I mean, just look at the TYR board? No where on that thing does it say “I wanna get toned.” The TYR board is a reflection of someone who needs goals after they have achieved what we really set out to do: Help as many people as possible build habits that ensure that their bodies will be an asset in their life for as long as possible and live their happiest possible lives. And you know what I found in common with the people that we helped in that way? We got them all to improve in 5 areas: Fitness – The exercises we do to maintain and prepare our bodies for the tasks we ask of them. Sleep – How we recover from the stresses of life. Nutrition – How we fuel our bodies. Mindset – How we view the challenges before us. Community – The people we have around us to help us grow in peace time and support in stressful times. These 5 things are what we can do one thing in and know for a fact that we have improved our heath. When we do one thing every day for each, we are doing all we can to build the healthiest life we can. Each pillar cannot keep us up on their own and even with 4 standing tall, the lack of one can bring the whole building down. I mean if you have all the friends, workout 6 days a week, stretch every chance ya get, and just eat protein and vegetables; if ya sleep 4 hours a night that train is gonna come to a screeching halt at some point. |
