Quick fixes sound nice, don’t they?
If I could do one thing that takes minimal time and creates a lasting positive impact on my life, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
And to be fair, quick fixes have their place.
Angry?
Talk it out with a friend.
Lights go out?
Flip the breaker.
Shoulder hurting?
Get an injection.
In each case, you get relief. The problem feels smaller. You can move on with your day.
But what happens if the quick fix is the only fix?
If talking to your friend helps, what happens when the same issue makes you angry next week?
If flipping the breaker works, what happens if the real problem is faulty wiring?
If the injection helps your shoulder, what happens six months from now if nothing else changes?
The reality is that most quick fixes are just that: temporary solutions.
They’re not bad. In fact, they can be incredibly helpful.
The mistake is treating them like permanent answers.
A quick fix should buy you time to address the real problem.
Flip the breaker, then call the electrician.
Talk to your friend, then address the issue that’s actually bothering you.
Get the injection, then start doing the mobility, activation, and strength work needed to keep your shoulder healthy long term.
The same thing happens in fitness.
Most people know the things they should be doing. They’re just often the things they’re avoiding because they’re harder, slower, or less exciting.
Consistency.
Sleep.
Nutrition.
Recovery.
Managing stress.
The boring stuff is usually the stuff that works.
And that’s where coaching comes in.
Your coaches can’t help fix your electrical panel or solve an argument with your neighbor. But when it comes to your health and fitness, we can help you identify the things you’re avoiding and create a realistic plan to tackle them.
Because the goal isn’t to feel better for a day.
The goal is to feel better for years.
If there’s something in your fitness journey you’ve been avoiding in favor of a quicker solution, let’s talk about it.
Reply to this email and let’s schedule a goal review.
We’ll build a plan that addresses the real issue now so future you has a much easier path forward.
Have a wonderful day, y’all, and I’ll see you in the gym.
