“Might as well” is a powerful phrase.
It’s a phrase that gets me to do a lot of things that I don’t wanna do.
Right now, I’m going through that lovely time where the person who didn’t have the kid in the relationship is being caretaker supreme.
There’s a lot of chores around the house that Katelyn does that I hate. Laundry being #1 on my “I hate that” list.
But, you wanna know what’s crazy? By 3 weeks post Birth of Bozemund, I really don’t mind laundry anymore. And all I did to trick myself was say “Might as well.”
It’s a super easy trick to become the person you’re striving to be.
Are you ready?
It’s life changing! It’s gonna blow your mind.
Here we go…

Step 1:
You just have to go to the area of the thing you’re supposed to do.
Step 2:
Tell yourself “Well, since I’m here. Might as well do that thing I know I need to do.”
PSHHHHH. KERPEW. BWAHHHHHH. *Other explosion noises*
The thing is, that if you do that every day. You’re eventually just gonna do the whole thing because you realize the hardest part is just showing up to the thing ya need to do.
The story we tell ourselves about the thing we need to do but we don’t do, is always worse than the actual thing.
For me I’m like “FOLDING LAUNDRY IS GONNA TAKE FOREVER”
It takes 30 minutes on a bad day and my family gets to look all cute. It’s not that bad. Plus, I get to watch “Righteous Gemstones” which I can’t watch with the rest of the family.
In the gym, you can use this if you are trying to improve your attendance:
– Just get in the car and start driving. You’ll go “might as well go, I’m already in the car and in my exercise clothes.”
Doing that accessory work?
– Go to the personal training side of the gym instead of grabbing your stuff. “Might as well do those handstands, it’ll be really cool when I have them.”
The list is limitless, as is the power of “Might as well.”
So, go forth. Use this mighty tool.
It has helped so many people before me. I got it from a guy who tricked himself into liking the gym. He went from being 100lbs overweight and not liking working out, to he trains others now and hits all his fitness goals.
It’s helped me be a better caretaker of my family.
I can’t wait to hear how it will help you.
